Minor Works Fund

Between 2001 - 2007 the Minor Works Fund financed the implementation of small improvement projects throughout the New Deal area. Theses improvements have been in response to specific problems identified by the local community.

Over the years the Minor Works Fund was used to fund small environmental improvements including:

  • Boulders beside The Church Pub on Ford Lane
  • A Chicane on Rockley Gardens
  • Tree felling behind Ukraine Road
  • A ramp to enable access to Heraldic Court
  • Signage at Kersal Dale and Kersal Vale Allotments
  • Metal bollards on Littleton Road
  • Painting shutters and walls at Douglas Green
  • Railing at Dunedin Drive
  • Plastering and painting at Oliver's Gym
  • Crash barriers at Cairn Drive
  • Edging and planting on Albion Estate
  • New railings at the Red Path
  • Metal Knee rails on Strawberry Road
  • Improved signage for St George's Primary School

This project has now ended but the project continues through the Neighbourhood Response Fund which continues to provide a responsive pot of money to carry out environmental improvements identified by the local community.
