The Gemini Group
The Gemini Group for the over 50's and is based in Charlestown and meets on the first Thursday of each month, 10am at St Sebastians Community Centre, Salford, M6 6ES. At the meetings we discuss any problems which affect older people and invitie guest speakers to come along
Anyone who would like to join The Gemini Group would be welcome at our monthly meetings, where we also invite speakers from various agencies and Salford City Council departments. They give us up to date information and help resolve any issues we have. Come and join us for a cup of tea and a chat at St Sebastian's Community Centre, 10am.
The Gemini Group have been busy and we have gained funding from East Salford Community Committee to assist with holding monthly meetings at St Sebastian's Community Centre, volunteer expenses to attend the Salford for Older Peoples Forum, East Salford Older Peoples Meetings, and other meetings where we can meet other older people's groups and share experiences and knowledge, and gain new ideas. We also have funding for a couple of trips to Gordon Riggs garden centre in Todmorden where we enjoy a lovely lunch in the Border Rose.
We are also organising monthly trips on the NDC mini bus to various places. These trips are subsidised and usually cost £5.
