Alleygate Toolkit
Following the successful Down Your Alley event, we’re pleased to announce that the new Down Your Alley toolkit has been published and is available to download here.
Launched by Councillor Murphy at the event, the toolkit has been designed to support local residents to form small community groups to turn neglected alleyways into shared community spaces with planters, hanging baskets, benches, and outdoor play space.
If you live in a gated alleyway (or one that is about to be gated), support to form a group is available from the NDC Community Involvement Team. Members of the team can help you to consult with your neighbours, hold meetings, set up your group, put together a plan of action and apply for funding. Whatever ideas you may have for improving your alleyway, the toolkit is a step-by-step guide that explains how you can turn your gated alleyway into an attractive communal space that can be enjoyed by you, your family, neighbours and friends.
For further information, a printed copy of the toolkit, or support to establish your own community alleyway group, please contact Bernadette on 0161 607 8533.
