During 2004, a Community Strengths Assessment took place to find out the main strengths of local community and residents' groups, and to highlight any additional support needed by groups, such as funding, training, general development.
| A workshop was help in September 2004, and groups attending suggested that an informal network of local groups would be a great way of bringing local groups together to network, share information and find out ways of further developing community and residents' groups. From this workshop – the Community Groups Network was born! |
