Ssshh Campaign
The Sshhh campaign aims to promote good relations between the student community and permanent residents of the Charlestown and Lower Kersal NDC area. It will also raise awareness of unreasonable noise disturbances and litter amongst some of the student population on the way home from a night out through residential areas. The campaign also aims to encourage students to feel part of a community rather than separate from it.
The campaign is a joint project between Charlestown & Lower Kersal NDC, the University of Salford Students’ Union and Greater Manchester Police.
The Students’ Union sign-post the campaign on their website and have provided a hotline number which residents can ring to report noise and nuisance on a 24-hour basis. If residents would like to register a complaint of excessive noise or nuisance from patrons leaving Students Union facilities, they should ring the Students Union’s Out of Hours Nuisance Hotline on 0161 792 0479.
