History
Charlestown and Lower Kersal In Bloom was launched in January 2004. It was set up by New Deal Officers and  a small group of residents. It’s main aim was to improve the visual appearance of the New Deal Area, and to increase community spirit, through people working together to help achieve this.

Since the group started out in January 2004, 30 hanging baskets have been purchased by the group, these are situated along Cromwell Road, the main route-way through the area. Planters and barrier baskets have also been bought to help improve the image of the area.

In addition to improving the main highway through the area residents have taken part in numerous planting days each summers to help brighten up their own neighbourhoods.

The tremendous efforts of residents have been awarded through the group receiving several awards at the prestigious North West In Bloom Awards each year of entering.
